NWIRC Competition celebrating BIG IDEAS in final week

By July 25, 2020Community

In our TAG Cafeteria program this week we welcomed back Lara Merriam-Smith of Northwest Innovation Resource Center (NWIRC) to discuss details of the NWIRC Competition — an Amazon Catalyst project — now in it’s final week of submissions, ending at midnight on July 31st. Get your submissions in!

The competition is for BIG IDEAS to improve our world. This isn’t a business pitch idea, it is an idea pitch idea making the submission process comparatively simple, with no limitations on number of submissions per person. Three winners from each of the eight participating cities in the Puget Sound will share a $10,000 prize pool for a total of $80,000 of prize money.

Categories include: Cleantech, Ocean Health, Applied Life Sciences, Creative Sector Solutions in Economic Recovery, Health Care, Transportation, Streamline Manufacturing, and Food Supply Chain.

Participating cities include: Arlington, Bellingham, Bothell, Edmonds, Everett, Lynwood, Marysville, and Mount Vernon.  Submissions must be FROM these cities, for ANY of the categories. Small teams may be formed with the team lead from a participating city to allow folks from other cities around the Puget Sound to participate.

Winners will likely be announced in September, with a competition celebration TBD.

Submit your ideas, win money, and perhaps make our world a better place!? Sounds perfect. Good luck with your submissions.
