New 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established

By March 30, 2021TAGNW

In 2020 we began the formation of a new organization to focus on technology education, community engagement, and to better meet the needs of our community. Fantastic news!  We have been approved as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission: Develop and promote technology education in Northwest Washington. The 501(c)(6) organization will continue to represent our sponsor interests and hold major events throughout 2021.

Our new 501(c)(3) nonprofit status allows for charitable giving opportunities to support our many new technology education advocacy programs, including TAG Community Groups (Analytics, Cybersecurity, Engineering, IT, and Women in Tech), TAG Community Hub, TAG Mentorship, TAG Consulting, and Whatcom STEM, and education projects such as the WCC Software Development Career Launch Program.

Thank you to the numerous community members that have volunteered their time and incredible effort to make this a reality. Special recognition is thankfully provided to David LeBow, Matt Bain, and Ed O’Neill for their countless hours of planning, administration, and leadership. Additionally, special thanks to Garth Johnson and Carl Willis-Ford for their efforts in helping to develop, launch, and maintain several new programs. Thank you to all who have contributed to this effort!
