Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Bellingham, WA focused on technology education and community engagement. We advocate for technology education, foster innovation, assist business, workforce, and economic development, and provide community for students, professionals, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and local government in Northwest Washington. We provide events, programs, and services to Strengthen Our Technology Community. Foremost, we build relationships and infrastructure in our community to do the things we do better together.
TAG events include TAG Predictions, TAG Expo, TAG Bash, TAG Summit, and recurring meetings of TAG Community Groups. TAG Predictions highlights innovation and economics with guest speaker and celebrated technologist, Mark Anderson. TAG Expo highlights technology recruiting and workforce development in the beloved business exhibition format, including TAG Community Groups and TAG Community Partners. TAG Bash celebrates technology education in a summer social format, featuring the TAG Bash Student Scholarship Fundraiser to support exceptional technology students in our community. TAG Summit highlights technology expertise in our community as an annual technology conference with an educational focus. TAG Community Groups include Analytics, Creative, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Engineering, IT, Nonprofits, Robotics, Women in Tech, and growing! Other TAG Community Groups include Bellingham Codes (Software Development) and the Bellingham Linux Users Group (BLUG).
TAG programs and services include Whatcom STEM, Whatcom Community College Software Development Career Launch Program, TAG Mentorship, and TAG Consulting. Whatcom STEM is a new program to expand statewide and regional STEM resources and career connected learning to Whatcom County with collaboration with Washington STEM, NW Washington STEM, Skagit STEM, and Career Connect WA. The Whatcom Community College Software Development Career Launch Program is in development to integrate work-based learning experience and modern fundamentals into a new software development degree to be launched fall 2021, pending approvals. TAG Mentorship matches junior and senior community members into a mentorship pair to share experience and expertise, participate in our cohort group discussion and resources, and invest in a new generation of TAG Leadership. TAG Consulting was launched to combat impacts of coronavirus in our community, including FREE technology consulting for nonprofit organizations, and available to the public by donation.
Established in 1999, TAG (EIN 87-0786239) was formed as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization to support businesses in Northwest Washington navigate the many challenges and opportunities that advancements in technology provided. For over twenty years, TAG has advocated for technology and business in our community on behalf of our individual and business members. In 2020, after several years of planned expansion of new programs, Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington (EIN 85-2170683) was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to focus on technology education and community engagement, and began a new era of the TAG legacy. This website represents the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the 501(c)(6) organization will operate until the end of 2021.
