Mark Manos
My
name is Mark Manos and I was fortunate enough to be presented the
Technological Alliance Group (TAG) scholarship for Spring quarter at
Whatcom Community College.
I am a single father of a daughter eight years of age, and am a local
resident. I am currently enrolled full-time in the Computer Information
Systems program. I worked as a construction worker for the last eight
years and upon moving back to Bellingham, found it very difficult to
continue with the trade that I had been trained in. With the attitude
that I am capable and ready to learn anything put before me, I took on
the task of changing careers to the technological fields as it seemed
to best suit the way my mind functions.
The TAG scholarship has really helped me out monetarily as it is no
easy task to afford school these days, and raise a daughter
simultaneously. I have the most humble appreciation for the help the
Technological Alliance Group has provided me and my daughter during our
time of need, and look forward to the day when I can give back to up
and coming people in their college years.
