Join us on November 20: State of the Economy with Dr. Hart Hodges
America slowly appears to be emerging from recession, rebounding from its worst slump in decades. However many US economists agree the prospect of recovery in the job market is still off in the horizon. Whatcom county unemployment rates are significantly lower than state or Federal levels. Why is this and what should we expect in the months ahead? When will the economy turn around and what is the anticipated length of recovery. Should we worry about inflation? Can we expect a positive economic impact of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics for Whatcom County?
Join us on November 20 to hear Dr. Hart Hodges of the WWU College of Business and Economics' Center for Economic and Business Research answer these questions and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to Dr Hodges presenting a current economic outlook and preliminary forecast for the year ahead. This presentation is sure to help your business better navigate the challenging economic climate.
This will be a popular meeting so please register as soon as possible.
Date and Time: Friday, November 20 from 12:00 - 1:15 pm. We encourage you to show up early (11:30AM) to network. Location: DIS building at 1315 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham, WA Cost: Members $10, Non-Members $15. Lunch by Avenue Bread included.
Register online at: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/89928 You can also RSVP and pay at the door.

Save the date for December 4!
TAG's highly anticipated end-of-year Holiday and Scholarship Awards Luncheon is scheduled for December 4 at the Bellingham Technical College.
As usual the Holiday & Scholarship Awards Lunch replaces our regular monthly meeting (on the third Friday) in December.
November 17, Bellingham Angel Group Education Breakfast on “Term Sheets”
The Bellingham Angels are inviting TAG members to attend their Education breakfast meeting on November 17 to learn more about 'Term Sheets'. This is an important topic for every angel investor and an area where best practices are changing quite quickly. For the past couple of years, at Angel investor conferences all around North America, there has been a lot of discussion about how different VCs and Angel investors really are. This discussion has led to some interesting new ideas on Angel term sheets.
Join distinguished guest speakers, Dan Rosen, Chair of the Alliance of Angels in Seattle and Basil Peters, technology entrpreneur and fund manager from Vancouver. In September, the Vancouver Angel Forum and the Vantec Angels co-hosted a full day conference on Term Sheets and Valuation. Bill Payne was the lead instructor. Dan Rosen and Basil Peters both did presentations on new thinking about Angel term sheets.
Together they will provide an efficient summary of the Term Sheet information over breakfast in Bellingham on November 17.
When: November 17 at 7:30am to 9:30 AM Where: Bellingham Golf and Country Club 3729 Meridian St., Bellingham, WA Cost: $30 for guests.
It is important that you RSVP right away so we can plan for adequate meals and seating. Pre-pay by credit card on Bellingham Angels website or pay by credit card, cash, or check at the door on the day. If you have any questions please email Linda at linda@meteorbytes.com or call her at 1.778.384.1372.
