TechStomp Celebration & Scholarship Fundraiser on September 22!
Join us on September 22 for our fifth annual industry celebration and scholarship fundraiser. Relax and mingle with tech-focused business and civic leaders while supporting the leaders of tomorrow in the beautiful setting of the Squalicum Boathouse. Net proceeds from Tech Stomp will go to the TAG Scholarship Fund, which grants scholarships to students in technology fields attending colleges in Whatcom County. This year we are pleased to invite is Dr. George 'Pinky' Nelson… Hall of Fame Astronaut and Director of SMATE at WWU to provide the keynote.

Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit Program Now Accepting Applications (Due Sept. 16)
The U.S. Treasury Department and Department of Energy recently released Notice 2009-72 announcing the establishment of the qualifying advanced energy project program. Under this competitive program, the Treasury Department will award up to $2.3 billion of new Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Tax Credits, a new investment credit authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Projects that re-equip, expand or establish domestic manufacturing facilities for the production of certain clean energy equipment are eligible to apply for the credit. Preliminary applications are due to the Department of Energy by Sept. 16, 2009, followed by final applications due to DOE by Oct. 16, 2009, and applications for project certification due to the Internal Revenue Service by Dec. 16, 2009.

Washington Technology Center's new Microfabrication Laboratory Access Program will award short-term access to sophisticated MEMS fabrication equipment to help small companies in Washington develop job-growing, innovative commercial technologies.
