Brett Allsop, TAG luncheon on May 16 May 16, TAG's third Friday of the Month Luncheon

Join us
on Friday May 16 for a presentation by Brett Allsop, a seasoned local entrepreneur and Co-founder, Chairman of the Internet travel web site, Yapta. Yapta is focused on building the brand promise behind being a true personal travel assistant to web travel planners. Yapta helps travelers pick flights, get low airfares and receive credits from airlines when prices drop after they buy tickets. Yapta won the 2008 Washington Technology Industry Achievement Award in the category Consumer Product of the Year and also won the WTIA Investment forum in web services.

This is the third presentation in a series of War Stories from local technology entrepreneurs. Brett's presentation will focus on the Yapta story, past current and the future.  Brett will also share his ideas on attracting and keeping entrepreneurial teams in Bellingham.

This will be a popular meeting so please RSVP by clicking as soon as possible.

TAG launches Special Interest Group on Security -
First meeting on May 13 on
"How to Prevent Laptop Data Breaches"

TAG is launching a new special interest group (SIG) for people that are interested in advancing their knowledge about information technology security. The group plans to meet on a regular basis and offer the opportunity for IT professionals and business people with an interest in computer security an opportunity to extend their technical knowledge, and develop and maintain professional contacts in the field. The first meeting features a presentation by the leader of the TAG Security SIG, Bart Pestarino, and will be held on May 13 at 1PM-2PM at the City of Bellingham, Fireplace room. This presentation focuses on applying Security 2.0 principles specifically to the laptop.  This one-hour session will address administrative, technical, and physical security aspects. Read More >>

If you are a developer or otherwise interested in .Net technologies consider attending The Bellingham .NET Users Group's meetings.
