Recent Events: November 18, 2005 - Disaster Preparedness

The topic for our November luncheon was Distaster Preparedness. How quickly your company can get back to business after a terrorist attack or earthquake, fire or flood often depends on emergency planning done today.

Our speakers Bill Boyd, Fire Chief, and Marty Mulholland, Information Technology Services Director for the City of Bellingham discussed how we as a community and as individual businesses are prepared for disasters. They touched on critical lessons learned with the Whatcom Creek explosion, and from the stark situations and harsh realities other communities are facing.

This event proved to be very popular, attracting close to 50 people.  With several members of TAG/WSA having key expertise and resources in disaster recovery; this was a dynamic and useful meeting for all types of businesses.
